aRCHIVE recordings

Scott Slimm and Archive Recordings have once again released and re-released some gems from now defunct and sorely missed masters of dirge, KHANATE. As always, the packaging from Scott and Archive is immaculate and quality is assured. For more information, questions, audio samples or to order, visit archivecd.com or click the pics. Special thanks to Scott for his kindness and correspondence.

KHANATE “archive 13 it’s cold when birds fall from the sky” live 2005 a collection of live tunes recorded during Khanate’s last US tour Originally released in a pressing of 500 copies which sold out form Archive in something like 6 hours. This pressing is 1000 copies and comes packed in a new layout that is slightly larger 3 panel cover with vellum printed strip dropped into a translucent silver static shielding bag.. Content is identical to the original release although it has been re-mastered slightly. Track list: CAPTURE:RELEASE:PIECES OF QUIET

KHANATE “archive 35 live in Stockholm” recorded at said date in Stockholm Sweden May 13th 2004 was originally sold as a tour only CDr Release edition of something absurd like 75 copies. Again another edition of 1000 copies packed in a slightly larger 3 panel cover with vellum printed strip and static shielding bag. While billed by the band as special low fidelity version I just got done listening to the re-mastered discs that came in from the plant and it’s just evil sounding. Certainly rough edges on the non-studio, content but if you’re a fan of the bands output I think this disc will be satisfactory for you. Track list: FIELDS:PIECES OF QUIET:UNDER ROTTING SKY

Both discs will retail for $13.50 each US post paid. Mailing list additions please drop a line.
