Magic(k)'s New Chapters
Texas-based mythological occult metal outfit ABSU has announced the addition of bassist/co-vocalist Ezezu (ex-Panzram) to the group's ranks. This is the first time the band is experiencing a permanent quartet-type line up since the band’s debut album Barathrum: V.I.T.R.I.O.L.
Drummer/vocalist Proscriptor says of the latest addition, "We are very proud to welcome Ezezu as the newest member of ABSU. He was the missing element we have been searching for and definitely fits in the group. We are delighted to convey our next chapter of mythological occult metal with him."
Absu has just completed the recording of their latest album, Absu to be released in the beginning of 2009 on Ca
ndlelight Records. The album was more or less engineered by the band, mixed by none other than J.T. Longoria at Nomad Recording Studio (King Diamond, Solitude Aeternus, etc.) and will be mastered by Proscriptor at his studio Tarot Productions.

Slaytanism
"Protest is a metal band, period. With members that are no strangers to the local music scene, the band pulls from it's players years of experience in various bands with styles ranging from hardcore to grindcore to you-name-it-core. Started in 2003 by guitarist Jason French, Protest would take on many forms before really taking shape in the summer of 2005. But the band would continue to evolve until mid 2006. Now with a solid lineup, Protest is ready to do what it was made to do. Make metal."

Pelican: Robbed on tour [re-post]
"Hey Everyone,
Our otherwise excellent tour of
The calculated loss of this theft is several thousands of dollars. Unfortunately our band only earns us a very meager living and some of us are already in the hole from years of trying to make a living as musicians. This incident therefore poses a devastating loss and puts us in a very compromised financial position. Although we realize that there is a worldwide financial crisis going on, if there are those of you who have the means and desire to help out our gratitude would run deeper than words could express. We've set up a Paypal account at the address pelicanrobbed@gmail.com. Anything you can offer, even simple condolences, would go a long way. Thanks so much for reading."
