ABSU vs. TRVE BREWING COMPANY

ABSU: TRVE Brewing Company Announces Collaboration With Band To Release Four Different Beers

Denver, Colorado’s Trve Brewing Company is proud to announce details on their upcoming first out of four ales titled Eastern Candle - dedicated to the mythological occult metal act ABSU. In honor of their 20th anniversary second album, The Sun Of Tiphareth, Trve has created the first out of four ales: Eastern Candle – a pale wheat beer fermented with brettanomyces in white wine barrels. The ale is a fine equilibrium of wheat and white wine with a slight, fruit-like yeast character. (Fittingly named after the song Never Blow Out The Eastern Candle).

The three forthcoming beers to be unleashed are the following:

Tiphareth – Red Ale: This will be a soured beer with a mild strain of brettanomyces fermented in red wine barrels. This fusion will have a nice malty, tart, yet dry balance including red wine adding a background complexity.

Manannán – Brown Ale: The Manannán batch will feature rye in the grain bill, as it will be soured and fermented with a shrouded strain of brettanomyces in whiskey barrels. This will be a more assertive brew with malt character and plenty of obscurity from the yeast while also showcasing the barrel flavors.

Winter Zephyr – Black Ale: A dark wheat and dark rye concoction giving the beer its cryptic color. This ale will highlight a fair amount of oats to retain vast body after the brettanomyces have alchemically fermented in wine barrels.

ABSU recently announced details of their upcoming North American Connexus Continuation Tour, the trek to showcase the band performing set with music spanning throughout their twenty-two year recording career. This excursion is a follow-up mini-tour by the Texas-based mythological occult metal trio since the release of Abzu – the second of a planned trilogy of recordings.

Tickets for these two shows will be on sale at a price of $32 on Saturday October 19th at 9am at www.blackdotpresents.com and at the following stores at regular opening hours: Phonopolis, Sound Central, L’oblique, Sonik, Profusion, Atom Heart and Cheap Thrills.

This exclusive Pacific Northwest engagement presented by Mike Thrasher will also feature an incredible support bill, including Tragedy, The Body and Atriarch. NEUROSIS is also the first band confirmed to partake in the maiden booking of the Temples Festival, May 3rd in Bristol, UK; a heavy music event covering a broad range of genres within the heavy music spectrum, featuring key international and domestic artists with equal focus.
Since 1985, NEUROSIS surpassed the boundaries of any genre, never ceasing to mutate and progress their songwriting and sonic delivery, and never failing to mesmerize audiences both in the studio and onstage. In 2012 their monumental Honor Found In Decay, which went on to receive a wealth of praise the global media. NPR stated of NEUROSIS in an early premiere from the album, “For 27 years, the members of Neurosis have demonstrated what metal can be and what it can aspire to: transcendent, cathartic, graceful, innovative.” The band graced the cover of Decibel Magazine, who opined, “Those who prefer their epics harrowing, their atmospheres apocalyptic and their metaphorical gut punches landed squarely on the emotional solar plexus will not be disappointed,” with Spin saying Honor Found In Decay, “officially upped the ante for all the post-metal bands who ought to be paying these guys royalties for their patent on psychedelic purgation…” In the UK, Metal Hammer said the album was, “Another spiritual journey into the very heart of mankind. Completely and utterly mind-blowing,” and Terrorizer stated in a 5/5 review, “The most stunning aspects of Honor Found In Decay come from NEUROSIS‘ grasp of dynamics…as ever, in the hands of these uncompromising sorcerers, true heaviness can be as much about the directness as disorientation, and as much about the sinister rumble as an unearthly roar.” Once again, Honor Found In Decay reaffirms why NEUROSIS remains one of the most significant heavy acts in existence.
Stay tuned for further transmissions as new live plans develop.

ORANSSI PAZUZU

20 Buck Spin will release the innovative Valonielu, the crushing and expansive new LP from Finnish cosmic black metal collective ORANSSI PAZUZU to North American earthlings. The psychedelically-infused, mesmerizing, blackened passages the band creates on the new opus have been captivating inquisitive journalists worldwide preceding its pending public appearance, with incredibly diverse but equally positive reactions in early reviews of Valonielu. To help permeate the public with the album, today Vice Magazine’s music channel Noisey is streaming the entire LP, stating with it “Oranssi Pazuzu make the most fascinating black metal laced with psychedelia, krautrock and all things druggy.”
Valonielu will see official North American release via 20 Buck Spin on October 15th preceded by the European release via Svart Records on October 11th. Here the adventurous ORANSSI PAZUZU has sharpened their songcraft into succinct and salient statement, formidably invoking ‘90s era Darkthrone, yet boldly reaching farther out into the multiverse of the psych and ExperiMental side they have always inhabited. Valonielu offers a vibrant, colorful cataclysm of psych, space rock and black metal that cannot be easily categorized as any one particular genre or any single influence.
